The ONLY God, Grammar and Geeking out!
My thoughts about time, childhood learnings, and some interesting finds
January lasted for 78302 days, isn’t it? And here we are - halfway through February.
I hope you take a few bets on yourself in 2024 - afterall, it is a leap year. :P
Jokes apart, what is your notion about time? How do you define time?
In every walk of life, time is an unseen force that shapes our existence with impartial grace. As I grew older and understood a bunch of things about humans and religion, I realised how time is the only God - regardless of belief or background, and life choices. This deity does not demand prayers or offerings but commands respect through its relentless march forward, reminding us of our finite presence in this world.
Time heals, destroys, creates, and ends, embodying the ultimate paradox of being both a merciless tyrant and a benevolent healer, teaching us the value of moments and the impermanence of everything we hold dear.
Timing is its loyal disciple.
It dictates the rhythm of our lives with an uncanny precision that often escapes our comprehension until the moment has passed.
It is everything because it decides the success of our endeavors, the meeting of souls destined to intertwine, and the missed opportunities that haunt our 'what ifs.'
Together, time and timing weave the fabric of our reality, with the threads of chance, and choice, to align with the universe's grand design.
Aai »»» AI
I have been writing since I was 8 and my dad read everything I sent to him. He would suggest formatting changes and overall edits. Mom (Aai) would do it for Hindi and Marathi.
It has been almost 23 years now - and they still do it. Their insights beat Grammarly and all AI tools!
And when the article/essay used to be published, my parents would wake me up at 6:30 AM to check out the newspaper. I miss that.
I am sure if I write a PhD thesis tomorrow and share that for review - they would be more than happy to edit and review it.
Perfection begins at home. Discipline begins at home.
Here is a nostalgic childish collage of some of the old pieces I had written over a decade ago. My parents still have all the originals of all my articles/bylines/mentions ever published. ❤️
P.S. A. few days ago I learnt how kids are TAUGHT and ASKED to use grammar tools in schools. It somewhere broke my heart.
P.P.S. With my Naani's grammar lessons, my mother knew how to convert one single sentence into 88 different ones - and this information stayed with me. I have also written a story in my first book #OrendaByShalaka about an English teacher who did the same. 😊

Beautiful. I am sure they would be happy editing your PhD for more than editing reasons!
